Dynamic Figure Drawing (installments)

$127.50 every month for 2 months

Dynamic Figure Drawing

$255
Monday 7/30 and runs till 8/27
7-9:30PM

Knowing anatomy helps us to understand the surface topography of the body, so when we draw we’re not just copying random bumps. In this class we’ll go over some very specific muscle groups, their structures, and their surface characteristics. The models will be engaged in dynamic poses, pushing and pulling, giving us the opportunity to spend time studying muscles in action.

  • The Structural Gesture: Transitioning from fluid marks to careful, deliberate lines

  • Bumps, dimples, and bones: Learning to recognize the important landmarks

  • Push & Pull: Understanding the dynamic contrast of active muscles versus muscles at rest

  • Draw what you see & know: Techniques for exaggerating or emphasizing what you see on the model based on your knowledge of anatomy
