$180.00 every month for 2 months

Color Pencil & Mixed Media: Three Methods w/Julian Tejera

New session in the new space on 202 Park St.
begins Wednesday 10/29 and runs till 12/17

7-9:30PM

This exciting new class will introduce students to three colored pencil & mixed media techniques: a time honored illustration process; a personal process developed by the instructor; and a unique method created by New Jersey artist Robert Kogge. While the images visible here are all portraits and figures, you can apply the techniques to any subject matter.

Over the course of 8 weeks you’ll learn…

  • how to combine colored pencil with acrylics, acrylic mediums, and oil paint

  • how to select the right surface for your artwork

  • simple color theory tips to punch up your images

  • various transfer methods to keep your surface clean

  • Robert’s unique color pencil and mixed media on canvas technique

A note from Julian: I learned Robert’s process directly in 2010 when he first started working at the MAM. It was that process that inspired my curiosity and exploration of colored pencils with other materials, seeking beautiful color and surface quality. While Robert may have passed 2 years ago, I wish to keep that technique alive so new students may learn from his unique approach.
